Part II

FOR A WHILE, this tour was looking like a Spider-only event, until Jim Scutti showed up with his 1965 Giulia Super and Robert Cipriano arrived with his 2023 Giulia Quadrafolio. A newer and an older Giulia sedan — pretty special!

The first part of the drive brought us into Rhode Island at Sakonnet Point. A short stay allowed us to stretch our legs and gave us a nice view of the Sakonnet River and the lighthouse. Back in the cars, and a return to Massachusetts. This part of the state has to be one of the most beautiful: stunning scenery, beautifully kept properties, and exceptional views in all directions.

Our second stop was the Westport River Winery, another beautiful property. We relaxed a bit, enjoyed a nice lunch from the food truck and wonderful conversations. This winery will occasionally have concerts and other special events. The Porsche Club was scheduled to attend the next day. The staff was extremely welcoming, and keeps this place immaculate!

Off to the Buzzards Bay Brewery. A short jaunt brought us to another well-managed, family-friendly location. Food trucks in season and a corn maze to enjoy. Plenty of chairs and tables for more conversation, and maybe a taste of the brew.

Our final stop brought us to the only ice cream shop I have ever seen that is open 365 days a year! Gray's Ice Cream has become a Massachusetts land mark. A gent in a MGA walked over and asked if an MG owner could hang with the Alfa gang — very nice guy!

After we all sampled the ice cream, giving it an A+, we saddled up and went our separate ways. Another fun day with AONE members!
