Map & Directions

OUR MEET-UP AND STARTING POINT for the second running of the AONE Westport Wanderings Tour will be at the Dunkin' in Dartmouth, MA (directions below). We plan to meet at 9:30 and depart at 10:00.

This drive will take us by the many fields, farms, and estuaries that make this area one of the most beautiful parts of New England. The stone walls are works of art!

Our first stop will be a quick leg-stretch at Sakonnet Point, as we visit parts of R.I. as well. We can park in a small lot, use the portable potties and take a quick walk to check out the Sakonnet River. We will then work our way through the incredible countryside as we make our second stop at The Westport River Winery. There will be time to check out the property, visit the store, and grab a snack from one of the food trucks.

Then, a very short drive to Buzzards Bay Brewery! The brewery setting is breathtaking — several barns set in the middle of beautiful fields. It’s family friendly with their own corn maze! On the last tour (back in 2019!), some of us sampled the food trucks as others brought a picnic lunch.

Lastly, a 16-mile sprint to Gray's Ice Cream. This shop is open every day of the year! Ya gotta have great ice cream to pull that off!

This is a flexible tour; if you would like to linger at the Winery, please do and enjoy the setting. You can catch up with us at one of the next stops. Just let us know so we don’t think you got lost or broke down!

Please contact John DeWaele at dewaelejpd@gmail.com or 401-742-6660 by Thursday evening, October 1st. This tour will run rain or shine unless the rain is expected to be heavy. If so, a rain date may be announced.
