Map & Directions

This year, we are starting at the Irving Gas Station/Dunkin’ Donuts, 21 Village Inn Road, Westminster, where we’ve started our drives several times in the past. The meeting spot is ideal, offering not just gas but also facilities, picnic tables, and (of course) the ever-essential Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

Join us at 9:30AM to chat and fuel up. After a short driver’s meeting, we’ll leave promptly at 10:00AM.

Our route promises to be a delightful journey. As always, Deb and Dan have been exploring the countryside for new, cool, twisty-turny bits with nice vistas that we haven’t seen before. The tour will wind its way through the rolling hills and twisty turns that characterize the back roads of the Wachusett and Central Mass region. We’ll have a photo and bathroom break at the picturesque Hardwick Winery. We have high hopes that this early summer date will deliver the perfect "top down" kind of day, allowing everyone to fully immerse themselves in the forested greenery of central Massachusetts.

After completing our road tour of the Wachusett Region, we’ll pause our outing with a well-deserved lunch at the brand new “Mangia Bene Italian Deli and Eatery”, 139 Main Street, Sturbridge. The location just opened in April of this year, under new ownership and a with a strong feel of authentic Italian deli. They serve excellent sandwiches, salads, and hot pizza with made-from-scratch ingredients as well as a daily changing menu of authentic Italian dishes. Click here for a look at their menu.

We will be only 5 minutes away from Old Sturbridge Village. This presents an opportunity for our group as Dan and Deb are volunteers at the Village and will provide free admission to those interested in visiting. Old Sturbridge Village is an amazing opportunity to step back in time and immerse yourself in an authentic early 1800’s vibe. Deb and Dan will offer a tour as a group or you may venture at your own pace and explore the Village on your own.
