October 23-25 (Friday-Sunday)

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Our second annual AONE Goes to Maine event will be held on October 23-25. Once again, our chapter members in Maine are helping to plan our three-day moving celebration. There are several opportunities to join us if you can’t make it for the entire event.

We are gathering at 10:30 AM on Friday morning in Arundel at the Maine Classic Car Museum (this is on US 1 just south of Maine Turnpike Exit 32 (old Exit 3) — see the Map & Directions button above). After a museum tour and pizzas and salad for lunch, we’ll head out for a tour of the Lakes Region at 1:30, ending in Windham where we will have dinner at 5:30 before heading to our hotel in Freeport. 

After breakfast on Saturday, we are gathering at a Cars & Coffee at the Throttle Car Club in Scarborough (just off the Maine Turnpike) at 8:45. We leave from there at 11:00 to Hank’s in Scarborough for lunch. After lunch, we regroup at our hotel (The Harraseeket Inn) in Freeport at 1:30 for an afternoon tour, which will take us out to the Pemaquid lighthouse.

On Sunday, we’ll leave the hotel at 10:00 heading to Rockport for lunch. We’ll take a side trip to explore another peninsula along the way, traveling through Friendship and Cushing. Lunch will be at Archer’s on the Pier in Rockland at 12:30. After lunch, we will tour the Owls Head Transportation Museum.

Our hotel for both Friday and Saturday nights is the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport. We have booked six rooms at the Harraseeket. If you have not booked but plan to stay overnight, there are several choices nearby. We are planning to have dinner at the Inn on Saturday night.
