Tour Report from the September 27th event

The 2025 running of the annual AONE Cape Crusade took place under clear blue skies and perfectly warm late September weather. The contingent of 21 participants in 13 cars, all Alfa Romeos (but one Porsche), gathered at the boat slips of the postcard-pretty Millway Marina (Barnstable Harbor) in Barnstable Village, Massachusetts.
Following a rest period to give locals a chance to admire and learn about our assortment of vintage Alfas (the newest car in attendance was a 1986 Spider), we set off on the tour along Cape Cod’s historic Route 6A in Barnstable, through Yarmouth, Dennis, Brewster, and on to Orleans in light traffic that kept progress at a genteel pace. Although the historical norm is for Cape Cod to empty out once September came, the reality appears to be that the summer crowds are replaced by weekenders who know that the best time on the Cape is early fall.
We made a stop at Nauset Beach in Orleans for about 30 minutes before getting back on the road to meander our way through pretty coastal back roads to Hangar B Eatery in beautiful Chatham.
Hangar B is situated at the Chatham Municipal Airport, and one would be forgiven to assume it is a typical dive of a restaurant at some tiny aerodrome. Tiny airport, yes, but “dive of a restaurant”? Absolutely not. This is about as good as it gets for gourmet breakfast and lunch, and though always extremely busy on weekends year-round, we were granted the run of the place and treated to meals befitting of Hangar B’s reputation for excellent food.
