AONE Cars & Coffee

Despite both a rain date delay and some residual, unpredicted light precipitation, a large band of Alfa brothers turned out for this spring’s Boston Motorsports Cars & Coffee. A wide variety of Alfa convertibles arrived, indicating that many of us do not have garage queens, but we drive our cars. By the way, when we compared drives, the rain was encountered no matter arriving from departures from both the north or south; and, for this driver, on the way home. (So much for a partly sunny forecast).
No matter the weather, the atmosphere was buzzing with renewed acquaintances, Alfa tech chatter, and the good vibes of getting your Alfa out for the first time (perhaps) after winter hibernation. And some of us filled in others about the robust variety and number of events this year, as well as the joys of owning a modern Alfa (Giulia or Stelvio).
Alfa models that arrived included: Bertone GTVs, 4C, Duettos, later Spiders, a ‘60s Giulia Spider, a Junior Zagato, 164Q, Stelvios, and Giulia Quadrifoglios. The party was crashed by a yellow Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione (Evo II) – it deservedly got a lot of attention. Sorry if someone’s model was omitted here.
The writer apologizes for the omission of a list of attendees. It was a challenge to keep track of a list. There were cancellations due to the use of the rain date, but submitting a cancellation was not required. New additions for Sunday, last minute sign-ups and changes, as well as a meandering crowd of attendees. The organizer (photo guy, TD) was taking photos and hard-pressed to get an actual list of who attended in light of perhaps roughly 30 estimated attending.
Special thanks go out to Boston Motorsports. BMS supplied us with a lot full of the latest models, complimentary coffee, and a warmer indoor space to warm up. In addition, Seth Wonkka, service manager, was on hand the entire time and addressed questions from many of us. Since he is deep into older Italian cars and motorcycles, his input is genuine from both technical and personal points of reference. Also, he has been an Alfa Spider owner and is considering a more recent model Spider. Please keep mind the 10% parts and labor BMS discount for AONE/AROC members.
