Larz Anderson Yolanda Italian Fashion Event

Friday, October 22nd

As some of you know,  our presence has been requested at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum to display our cars and celebrate 100 years of Alfa Romeo. This request comes as a personal invite from Yolanda, a noted fashion designer who is having a fashion show that evening. She will be displaying both male and female clothing with models, music, etc. All clothing will be Italian-made. We have been invited to not only display our cars, inside and outside the museum with identifying signage, but to start the event with a brief presentation on the history of our favored marque. I will need three outstanding cars to be displayed inside the museum, two cars to be displayed at the entrance to the museum, and more cars to be displayed prominently in front of the museum. Please contact me with your car information.

This event is to celebrate “Italian Heritage Month” along with 100 years of Alfa Romeo — Ferraris were not invited! This event is also a fundraiser for scholarships, and all wishing to attend the festivities will be asked to donate $25 for the fundraiser. Of course, this includes the show, an Italian buffet, and a cash bar. If you just want to display your car, there is no fee but, alas, no food or beverages either.

I would love some help in putting together a ten-minute presentation with slides, sound clips, etc. We would need to perform a dry run before the event. The cars that will be displayed in the museum should arrive earlier during the day, as there will be a runway for the models set up from the front door to the rear down the center of the main gallery. The event will begin at around 6:00pm, Friday the 22nd of October. This event will be limited to 150 people, but I have reserved at least 10 spots so far, based on the initial response from some of our club members. I will ask for more depending on the response.

The Sons of Italy have graciously offered to help us with signage for each of the cars that will be in attendance, so please confirm with me at the earliest possible time with your car information. These signs (descriptions) will have to be prepared ahead of time.

Yolanda, the Sons of Italy, and I are hoping for a good turnout for this event. I consider it an honor that we (AONE) were asked to help celebrate this portion of Alfa Romeo history during “Italian Heritage Month”. Let’s shine our cars up once again and present them in style for this event! At least come to see me attempt to present our passion, our cars. I hope to see many nice Alfas and their owners at this evening event. If you don't have a car present, you are still welcome with the admission fee.Tiny Quadrifoglio
