Love that vintage racing?   May 18th-23rd are the dates for this year’s annual New Hampshire Vintage Celebration, a long weekend of vintage sports car racing at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. The celebration runs from Tuesday through Sunday — here’s what’s going on:

• Vintage Midgets, Sprint Cars, Champ Cars, Roadsters, and NASCAR stock cars will race on the oval on Tuesday through Thursday

• On Friday through Sunday, vintage racing sports cars, formula cars, and motorcycles take to the road circuit

• Saturday and Sunday also feature the Classic and Custom Car Show along with the NHMS Automotive Flea Market

AONE won’t be staging an official gathering this year as we’ve done in the past, but don’t let that stop you! Come up to Loudon for any and all of the weekend and, if you’re around on Saturday, make your way to the vicinity of the infield restaurant at around noon to link up with your fellow Alfisti. We’ll grab a bite together and share our impressions.

But wait — there’s more! Alfa stalwart and Glynn Motorsports owner Paul Glynn will definitely be at Loudon racing his Giulietta throughout the weekend! And there are likely to be a few other AONE members with racing inclinations out on the track, as well as many other Alfas from outside New England. So come cheer them on!

This is a great opportunity to see vintage Alfas and many other sports cars and motorcycles on (and occasionally off) the track. Bring a chair if you’d like and stroll through the infield amongst the beautiful vintage cars and bikes.

Tickets, which include infield admission, are $10 per day or $25 for the entire event. Children age 11 and under are admitted free. Tickets will be available at the Speedway Main Gate each day of the show. Gates will open every day at 9:00 am. For more info, check out the NHMS web site.

There’s something special about watching these 40-, 50-, and 60-year-old sports cars racing as if they were new — a time warp! Come on up!
