Acrobat LogoWhy Adobe Acrobat?

The Adobe Acrobat file format (.PDF files) has become the industry standard for distributing all kinds of documents—spec sheets, resumes—you name it.  It is computer-independent, meaning that documents created on a Mac will look virtually the same on a PC or a Sun workstation.   Adobe offers its Acrobat Reader software for free (if you want to create PDF files, that's another story).  Click here to get Acrobat Reader if you don't already have it.

AONE has decided to try offering Velocissima as a downloadable Acrobat PDF file. It is exactly the same as the newsletter that we print and mail every month, except that it's in color.

The advantages:

  • It's in color!

  • You don't have to wait for the US Mail.

  • You can print out the whole thing, or just the pages that interest you.

  • You can take it with you on your laptop.

  • You save trees.

The disadvantages:

  • It's a somewhat large file (2-3 megabytes) that will take some people a while to download.

  • You use your own ink.

To download the Acrobat version of Velocissima, first make sure that you have the Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. Then click on the Current Issue button, scroll down, and click on the link that offers the issue in Acrobat format. You should see a color version of the Velocissima newsletter show up in an Acrobat window.  You can now scroll among all twelve pages, zoom in and out, print it, and save it to disk.

Please note that, while back issues of the online HTML-based version of Velocissima will always be available on this web site (click on Past Issues), the Acrobat versions will only be available for two or three months after publication due to space limitations on our server.

And please let your Webmaster know whether you find this service useful!Tiny Quadrifoglio
