As it happens, one of our newer members, David Roberto, runs a business putting on pig roasts and barbecues. They're called Hog Wild Pig Roasts and they're also AONE's newest advertiser (see the New Sponsor announcement). In addition to roasting a pig for our gathering, they'll be providing corn, coleslaw, baked beans, and copious amounts of ice tea or lemonade. The way he cooks is the authentic, old-fashioned way — with hardwood charcoal and smoke. He also stuffs the porker with apples, garlic, rosemary, and onions — it's outstanding! There will also be burgers, dogs, etc. for those who want them. David says that his gang can cook for as many people as we can muster. And we hope to muster a HUGE crowd of Alfisti! Since we're roasting a whole pig, the total cost depends on the number of people we get, of course, but here's the deal: Your cost for the extravaganza is a mere $10 per person (children under 12 are free). Your AONE Directors have voted that the club will subsidize the difference. Need more incentive? How about this: Free Beer! Your editor/host has been homebrewing for over 30 years and will have a couple of selections on tap to augment the iced tea and lemonade. Wine and soft drinks will also be available. Please sign up for Arrosto del Porco soon! Bring your family and invite some friends — the more the merrier! We obviously need to give a head count to Hog Wild Pig Roasts. You can use PayPal or your credit card to pay for the event by clicking on the button below, or just send a check for $10/person to AONE, 300 Westfield Street, Dedham, MA 02026. Click here for a map and directions (downloadable PDF file). If you bring your Alfa, come right up the driveway and park when you get here; if not, please park on the street (it's safe). Driveway parking is somewhat limited and we want to look out at it and see nothing but Alfas! Contact Dave Pratt at dave@dvpratt.com or 781-320-8208 with any questions.
We're absolutely convinced that, had Cristoforo Colombo lived five centuries
after he did, he'd have driven an Alfa Romeo — he was that kind of guy.
So come help celebrate his legacy, hang out with lots of your Alfa friends,
and enjoy some great barbecue on
October 11th at the AONE Arrosto del
