The party’s on!!! After a couple of fits and starts, we’ve got the Third Annual AONE Winter Party ready to rock, thanks to the efforts of President Tom Lesko. The venue’s a little different, however: Larz Anderson wanted a larger tariff to use their space than in previous years, and our club had lost a fair amount of money on this event even at the lower price. So we’re moving it to Vinny T’s Ristorante in Dedham, MA — Italian food for an Italian car club! The date is Saturday, December 20th, and the time is 5 PM to 9 PM (which should make it as convenient as possible for you folks who travel some distance).

Vinny will be providing us with our own private room and will be setting up an Italian buffet for our dining enjoyment. And here’s some good news for everybody, in these trying economic times: The cost will be only $32 per person! That’s the per-person fee that Vinny’s charging us; your club will be picking up any incidental costs.

We’ll also be doing our ever-popular "Yankee Swap" kind of holiday gift exchange again — it’s always a hoot! Each attendee should bring a wrapped gift valued at around $20, serious or humorous, automotive or not, for either gender. There isn’t room to describe how it works here, but rest assured that it’s great fun.

Our party will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres (there will be a cash bar). This will be followed by dinner, followed by the Yankee Swap, followed by general revelry. Dress is casual! The cheesy piano player who performed at our holiday party the previous two years claims to have run out of mock Alfa Xmas tunes, so if you have any ideas for after-dinner entertainment, let Tom know.

Please note that the deadline for signing up and prepaying for the event is Friday, December 12th, since we have to make a firm commitment with Vinny. No exceptions! You can sign up either of three ways:

Whichever you choose, do it now!  The deadline is Friday, December 12th!

If you mail a check after December 9th, be sure to contact Dave Pratt at dave@dvpratt.com or 781-320-8208 to tell him that you’ve done so, in case the check doesn’t arrive before the December 12th deadline!

This will be a great way to wind up the year, reminisce over the season’s activities, enjoy some Italian cuisine, and toast each other and our Alfas! It’s going to be another grand time—see you all there!

Maps and Directions

Vinny T’s in Dedham is very easy to find. Take Exit 15A off of Route I-95 / 128 from either direction. Bear right at the first traffic light onto Elm Street. Vinny T’s is about 3/10 mile on the right (233 Elm).
