Text and photos by George Dolak great cars, great eats, and fantastic weather – it just doesn’t get any better! The Italian Car Raduno held on May 24th had all these features and more. A gathering of some 30 examples of various Italian marques was assembled in Tyngsboro, MA, at the Italian Car Specialist shop of David Castelhano. While munching popcorn and swapping stories, some 70-plus enthusiasts examined the wonderful examples of Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Maserati automobili on display. A variety of tempting items was offered at various swap tables, but the interest of the crowd was soon drawn to the culinary craftwork of Chef Lou D’Amore at the grille. As is usual under such ideal weather conditions, food trumps all, and participants sated their hearty appetites with a variety of tasty offerings. Afternoon entertainment was provided by an "F" car owner with the Mondial Valdez as he demonstrated the proper fitment of Home Depot plumbing supplies to effect an emergency repair to his ruptured oil lines. A cheer was heard from a group of onlookers as the car eventually departed under its own power without a tell-tale streak of petroleum! Many thanks to David Castelhano for
inviting us to his facility for a very fun gathering. Here’s hoping it
becomes an annual affair!
