The AONE Just-North-of-the-Border Tour
Saturday, June 28 |
peter Walker and
Tom Ducibella have teamed up to organize this
top-down (if you’re in a Spider) driving tour of Southern New
Hampshire. It will start immediately off of Route I-95 (Exit 1), just over the
MA/NH border. It will proceed along Route 107 north from the Seabrook, NH, area
to North Deerfield, NH, where we’ll have lunch at the funky, cozy Lazy Lion Café
(homemade food, not expensive, outdoor/indoor tables, great desserts, lattes and
other beverages). Route 107 is a wonderfully twisty road, recently paved, and
averages around 40 mph, with periodic brief looks at tiny New Hampshire towns
and rolling countryside. The round trip with lunch will take about three hours
(from Seabrook).
We will meet at 10:00 AM in the
parking lot of the CVS in Seabrook, NH, at the junction of US Route 1 and NH
Route 107. (See below for directions to our meeting place.) We’ll leave
promptly from there at 10:20 AM on our prescribed route. NOTE: Please RSVP
to Tom Ducibella (tom@nanduce.com,
978-921-0125) or Peter Walker (anderwalk@earthlink.net,
978-524-8102). If we number over ten (a pretty sure thing), we need to
tell the Café how many we’ll be. If the weather is iffy, watch your email,
but otherwise come on out and cross the border!
Directions to
the Meeting Place
The tour will start at the parking lot
of the CVS located at the intersection of NH Route 107 and US Route 1, in
Seabrook, NH. To get there, take NH Exit 1 from I-95. If coming from the
south, turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto NH Route 107 south; if
coming from the north, turn left. Travel southbound on NH Route 107 0.3 mile
to a traffic light (intersection with US Route 1). At the light, go straight
into the CVS parking lot.
