Strange But True

By Dave Pratt

aONE member Gino Evangelista  has a friend living way down in the Deep South, who happened to visit the museum attached to the Talladega race track (you know—the huge round’n’round NASCAR circuit) a few weeks ago. In the museum, though, was a lovely red Giulia race car! This was unexpected and seemed unusual, so he took some photos and sent them to his friend Gino, whom he knew to be an Alfista and would therefore appreciate them. Which Gino did, but, to his amusement, painted on the car was the name of the owner/driver: "David Pratt".

What a hoot! Another "David Pratt" who’s into Alfas even more than me? I’ve tried finding contact info for David Pratt of Pell City, Alabama to no avail, so if any of you might have a lead (or even just a snide remark), please let me know! (You listening, Bob Simonds in Alabama?)

Anyway, if I ever decided to take up vintage racing, I could buy this car and never even have to use a drop of paint! Thanks for sending those photos along, Gino!

And no, you disbelievers—PhotoShop had nothing to do with this...........Tiny Quadrifoglio
