The AONE South Shore
Beach & Waterfront Tour

Saturday, April 21

surf’s up—let’s all go to the beach!  Yes, folks, it’s time to put the tops down and head to the beach for the first annual(?) South Shore Beach & Waterfront Tour! Alfas by the Beach!

We will be meeting at 10:00 am in the large parking lot at Hingham Harbor adjacent to the bandstand on Route 3A. While waiting for all of the Alfas to arrive, we’ll partake in the Hingham beach and waterfront scene, where coffee, tea, and edible goodies will be served. From there, we will caravan to both Nantasket and Hull beaches (crowds are minimal at this time of year), thence to Cohasset’s gold coast, Cohasset Harbor, and Back Harbor (where we’ll see Cher’s house from the movie The Witches of Eastwick), motoring on to Minot Beach and the Minot lighthouse.

We will then proceed to Scituate Harbor; on the way there, we’ll see Egypt Beach and the Scituate lighthouse. Then it’s on to Peggoty Beach, followed by a loop back around to Scituate Harbor, where we will convene for lunch on the outside deck of the Mill Wharf Restaurant, on the water overlooking Scituate Harbor, complete with sailboats and fishing trawlers. There, we’ll have a leisurely lunch and conversation (the Mill Wharf has everything from burgers to seafood, and is reasonably priced and casual).

Here's another reason not to miss this:  For the first time in over ten years, AONE President Tom Lesko will be driving his own actual Alfa Romeo (a gray Giulia Spider Veloce named "Grumpy") to a club event! (Contact Tom at tmlesko@comcast.net or 781-749-9132 with any questions about the Tour.)

And guess what! Impossible as it may seem today, it's going to be sunny with temps in the 60s on Saturday! So tops down, RPMs up, and let’s go enjoy our cars and the wonderful area we live in!Tiny Quadrifoglio

Directions: From the North or South, take Route 3 to Exit 14, the "Rockland/Nantasket" exit. That puts you onto Route 228; go north. If you are coming from the North, go left from the off-ramp; if coming from the South, go right from the off-ramp. Follow Route 228 north for just over 5 miles into Hingham. Take a right onto North Street (just after the 4-way stop light). Follow North Street approx. 1/4 mile, where it ends at a stop light at Route 3A. Go left at the light, and about 200 yards on the right you will see the white bandstand on the harbor - and some Alfas!
