aONE’s Rod
Burdick had the good fortune of attending the Amelia Island Concours
d’Elegance a few weeks ago and took a few
("actually, a hell of a lot", he says) snapshots of most of the
automobiles in this "overwhelming, mind-boggling display". (As many of
you know, Rod himself owns two they-don’t-get-any-nicer-than-this Alfas
of his own—a 1965 Giulia Sprint Speciale and a
1963 Giulia Spider.)
Alfa Romeo was well-represented at
Amelia, and Rod’s camera "went into overdrive on these absolutely
luscious vehicles". You can see all of his photos below, including each car’s concours
identification plate, its description placard, and several additional
photos of each Alfa.
It’s interesting to note that,
although this event took place in Florida, several of these gems have
connections right here in the Northeast. These include Ralph Lauren’s
8C2900MM that we all saw under construction when AONE visited Paul
Russell & Company’s restoration facility in November, 2002. And we can
often spot John Kendall piloting one of his classic Alfas on the track
(where they belong) during many of the vintage racing weekends held
every year at Lime Rock and Loudon.
Thanks for sharing, Rod!
And some miscellaneous
