The AONE Annual
Pot Luck Winter Dinner Party

Saturday, February 3rd

one party down, one to go! Our Holiday Party in December was such a fine time that we can’t help but eagerly look forward to the next one! And that would be our annual mid-winter AONE Pot Luck Dinner Party that will be held the evening of Saturday, February 3rd at the Josiah Smith Tavern in Weston, MA, the scene of numerous AONE happenings over the years. It’s a cozy, old, comfortable, wood-paneled, centrally-located venue that’s perfect for our gathering—it’s unanimous that there’s no better possible place!

A scene from last year’s frivolities

As is our wont, the dinner will again be pot luck, since the strategy always works so well for us. You Alfisti always amaze with the caliber, character, and diversity of the food you bring each year! So if you make a special dish (or can talk your significant other into making one for you), convey it to Weston! This is an Italian car club, so Italian food generally reigns, but it really doesn’t matter. Entrees, salads, breads, desserts—anything goes! There’s a kitchen available to warm things up.

The lad with the goggles atop his head in this 1932 Maserati
racer is none other than AONE’s Bruce Murray in a
photo taken along the route of the 2005 Mille Miglia

You may recall last year that we were planning to have AONE’s Bruce Murray give us a presentation on his enviable experience of participating in the 2005 Mille Miglia in a 1932 Maserati race car. Unfortunately, he took ill and wasn’t able to make it, but he’s back with a vengeance! Bruce has a great multimedia presentation ready for us, complete with lots of big-screen visuals, including video footage of—and from inside while under way—the classic Maserati. Now there’s another reason to look forward to our soiree!

But we also mustn’t forget that … it’s a party! The club will be supplying soft drinks, but if you prefer something a little more bracing, feel free to bring your own. As always, there will be lots of door prizes, and you’re more than likely to go home with some sort of Alfa-oriented trinket or treasure!

We’ll be kicking things off at 6 pm. Don’t forget your significant other—we’ll promise to act as little like the Alfa nuts we are as possible. Dress is casual. If you have any questions, contact event organizer Tom Lesko at tmlesko@comcast.net or 781-749-9132.

Directions to the Josiah Smith Tavern

The AONE Winter Party has become a cherished institution, and we often get 40 or 50 revelers, sometimes more. It makes for a great way to break up the winter, and gives us faith that Alfa season can’t be far away. Don’t miss this year’s cold-weather fling!Tiny Quadrifoglio
