The Trap rally is intended for experienced TSD (Time Speed Distance) teams and challenges driver and navigator to keep on course using instructions that are rather devious in wording. This course will travel over mostly paved roads, but will include some unpaved stretches at times (about 15%). The Tour rally will keep to paved roads and use clear instructions while showing off some of the beauty of the Litchfield hills. Both rallies end at about 4pm. The first car off for the trap rally will be at 8:31 (and drive for a total of about 140 miles), while the touring teams will start at 12:01 (and drive for about 80-90 miles). Plan to arrive at least an hour before the appropriate starting time. What do you need to compete? A vehicle that holds at least two people (driver and navigator) is required. A watch (a stopwatch would be helpful). A desire to compete in a test of driving precision (legal speeds only). What does it cost? Early registration is over, so if you haven’t already signed up, the cost for last-minute registration (thru the day of the rally) is $30 per car.
Take some time to enjoy the Litchfield Hills this September! AONE and SCCA
member Mark Ziburis says, "The Tour course is especially designed for people
with low ground clearance (like my Alfa Spider) and for those with the desire to
take a nice drive in the country and see some fantastic scenery."
