he AONE Year-End Wrap-Up Meeting was held on Sunday, December 11th at Owen O’Leary’s brewpub in Southboro, MA. Unfortunately, since we’d already had a couple of significant snowstorms and there was lots of salt on the road, the only Alfas in the parking lot were Mark Ziburis’s and Fred Bonatto’s 164s (the 164 being the only truly year-round model that Alfa ever sold in the States, with its galvanized body and front wheel drive).

But there were plenty of Alfisti! Eighteen people gathered around the long table that O’Leary’s had set up in our own private room. Present and accounted for were President Tom Lesko; Directors Peter Walker and Tom Ducibella; Consigliori Kevin Murphy and his wife Diane and family; and members Len Cannizzaro; Tom Freiberger; Guilherme, Barbara, and Fred Bonatto; RJ Horwitz; John Basel; Mark Ziburis; Stacy Edinburg; John Paradiso; James McDowell; and Dave and Vi Pratt.

As we munched on pub fare and sipped on O’Leary’s handcrafted ales, we ruminated over the events our club held during a rather busy 2005 season. It was noted that attendance at our events—even our road tours out in western Massachusetts and low-key gatherings like the one we were currently at—has been on the increase. It appears that the word’s getting out—AONE events are a whole lot of fun! We also passed around a sheet that let people indicate in which events they’re likely to participate in 2006 so that we can plan the things that people really like to do.

And the Wrap-Up Meeting was the first opportunity for members to see and buy our new official AONE baseball caps! Lots of them went out the door, but if one of them wasn’t yours, don’t fret—you can have your own within days by ordering right here online at the AONE Club Store. We’ll ship it out in a sturdy box, and you’ll finally be able to go out in public displaying your club affiliation with style!
