Saturday, June 19
The New England Viper Club will be sponsoring an Exotic Car Show on June 19th at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Merrimack, NH. [Somehow, Vipers and Budweiser do seem to go together…—Ed.] All proceeds will benefit the New Hampshire Make-a-Wish Foundation, and participants are asked to make a $10 donation at the door.
Car clubs that have been invited include the New England and NY/CT Dodge Viper Chapters, the New England Ferrari club, Lamborghini Northeast, Porsche / North Country, Acura NSX, Austin Healey / New England, BMW / White Mountain Chapter, Aston Martin New England, MG / Greater Boston, the New England Pantera Club, and Jaguar Association of New England. So there should be quite an assortment of exotica!
The Brewery will be open to tour, and basic BBQ fair will be available. You can check out the brewery web site for panoramic views of the grounds and some basic driving directions. WBCN and WZLX radio stations will be covering the event, and you’ll even get to ogle the Viperette Cheerleaders. Live bands have donated their time and will play, so it should be quite a show.
Gates open at 9:00am and the show opens to the public at 10:00. There’ll be Show ‘n’ Shine from 10:00-12:00 and judging from 12:00-1:00pm, with the awards presentation from 1:00-2:00.
The Viper club would like to hear from you as soon as possible to get a feel for how many cars will be participating. Please contact Jeff Torrey of the New England Viper Club at 603-382-3795 or jeff@neviperclub.org. This is a weather-permitting event, to be re-scheduled for a later date should the weather become a problem. Sounds like fun!

Collings Foundation Open House
Looking
for a great indulgence for yourself (or somebody’s dad) on Fathers Day
Weekend? Come out to the Collings Foundation Headquarters in Stow, MA
on June 19th and 20th when the Collings Foundation opens its aircraft and
automobile museum collection for the weekend to the public. For those of you who
missed it last year (and even those of you who didn’t!), this is a real treat!
The Collings Foundation’s collection is one of the hidden treasures of the Boston area. On display are over sixty-five antique automobiles and race cars that include the 1932 Duesenburg Dual-Cowl SJ Phaeton owned by Fred Duesenburg; a 1940 V-16 Cadillac Limousine custom built for Al Capone; a Springfield, MA built 1927 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Phaeton; and an Indy Car driven by Mario Andretti. The aircraft collection includes a rare original 1909 Bleriot Model XI; a WWII vintage Fiesler FI-156 Storch; and a 1943 Cessna UC-78 that was formerly flown by Revere Airways. Also on display will be five micro-cars owned by the Charles Gould Foundation. These three-wheeled cars were produced by former aircraft manufacturers Messerschmidt, Heinkel, and BMW. In addition, the Charles River Radio Controllers will be displaying and flying both powered and un-powered radio control aircraft on the Foundation’s grounds.
The gates will be open on both Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Donation for admission to see the collection and display is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12. The Collings Foundation is located at 137 Barton Road in Stow, MA near Lake Boon. Directions and a lot more information can be found on the Collings Foundation web site or by calling 978-562-9182.
