Under construction in the town of Tamworth, NH
(two hours
north of Boston in the Lakes Region) is a 250+ acre facility to be called Valley
Motorsports Park. Essentially a country club for motor racing aficionados, it
will be centered around a 3.3 mile long, 40 foot wide, road course with 21 turns
and a 300’ elevation change. It can also be operated as a 1.8 mile, 10 turn
course and a 1.5 mile, 12 turn course. There will also be a vehicle dynamics area designed for
driver development and vehicle dynamics training or autocross; an enclosed
garage in the paddock area with private dormitory-style sleeping rooms above the
garage with a central locker room and shower facilities; long-term storage
garages for those who wish to keep cars or tools at the site; a vehicle
maintenance and pro shop allowing for immediate repairs for vehicles being used
on the course; class and meeting room buildings; a food kiosk and driver’s
lounge; a podium concourse where ceremonies and automobile expositions will be
held; an on-site year-round professional driving school; a timing and control
tower serving each road course configuration; a clubhouse with a premier
restaurant and a panoramic view of the White Mountains, function rooms, a pool,
tennis courts, a closed circuit media center, a start and finish area for road
rally use, an automobile museum, additional locker rooms, and approximately 50
lodging rooms for short term stays. No, it won’t be ready in time for our Convention, but
hopefully soon thereafter! Keep tabs on the progress at the
Club Motorsports web
site.
