We’re off to the races again! July 31 - August 4 are the dates for this year’s annual New Hampshire Vintage Celebration, a weekend of Vintage Sports Car Racing at New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon. The celebration runs from Wednesday through Sunday—here is the schedule:

• Vintage racing on the oval on Wednesday & Thursday

• On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, vintage racing sports cars and motorcycles take to the road circuit.

• Sunday features the Hart’s Turkey Farm Restaurant Open Vehicle Show and the Elegance Car Show

Your AONE club will set up its canopy in the infield with our banner on it so that you can find us (it is a big place). As we did last year, we’re gonna fire up the BBQ grill and have free food and drinks available for club members and guests.

This is a great opportunity to see vintage Alfas and many other sports cars and motorcycles on the track. There may be three or four AONE members racing (among them Paul Glynn with his Giulietta and Bob Russell with his Sprint Zagato), so come cheer them on! Bring a chair if you like and stroll through the infield amongst the beautiful vintage cars and bikes.

So get an early start Saturday, drive up to Loudon, buy your infield tickets ($20 for the whole weekend), and look for our Alfa banners in the pit/infield area! Consider finding a place to flop Saturday night and taking in the concours and more racing on Sunday! First run in 1999, Pasta Fazoom (formerly known as the Italian Car Cruise) is structured as a low-key road event affording Italian car owners an opportunity to gather for some camaraderie and an enjoyable cruise though the picturesque Central New York countryside. This is NOT a concours event—this is a driver’s outing.

The happening is growing every year, with 26 diverse Italian cars joining the fun last season. Due to increased interest, this time the number of cars will be limited to three flights, so please register early! One of the flights will be Eleganza (relaxed touring) style, while the other two will remain Con Brio (with spirit).

Despite living out there in New York state, Italian Car Consortium founder Cal Crouch is also an enthusiastic AONE member. In its fourth year, the sortie will take place on Sunday, September 29th. There will also be a gathering of sorts on Saturday afternoon and evening, so why not plan to make a weekend of it? The Cruise itself shoves off at 11AM on Sunday and winds down around 3PM for cider and togetherness, so there’s plenty of time to get home for a good night’s sleep before Monday rolls around.

Last year’s participants, including at least two AONE members, reported having a lot of fun—that it was a great chance to tear up some terrific empty roads with other Italian marques!
