Alfa Tidbit

Alfa Romeo
recently announced the first owner of a "156 GTA," purchased through
an auction on eBay held during the Frankfurt Auto Show. The car will be delivered two
weeks in advance of the scheduled launch date in the spring of 2002, to the highest of
fifty bidders. Tadashi Sengoku, a 44-year-old doctor living in Tokyo, is the ideal guy to
receive the honor, as all funds will benefit "Telethon," a charity that raises
funds for research into Muscular Dystrophy and other genetic conditions. He is also a
die-hard Alfa enthusiast and already owns an Alfa 164-Q4 and an Alfa Spider. As for those
of us in America, all we can do is hope, drool, and dream that the new 156, one of the
prettiest and sexiest Alfas ever, will somehow see its way to our shores. Then again,
there is always eBay!
