Italian
Car Day
at the
Museum of Transportation
This is a dont-miss! Sunday, June 3 is the date this year for Italian Car Day at the
Museum of Transportation at Lars Anderson Park in Brookline, MA.
Thats this weekend! There was a terrific showing of Alfas last year
(as well as a few other interesting marques), so get out the spit and polish, give your
Alfa a little shine (or a lot, if youre so inclined), and bring her on over to
Brookline. The hours are 10AM-2PM and there will be food available. Theres always an
amazing array of beautiful and sometimes unusual Italian machinery to wander around and
admire, as well as our concentration of dozens of various Alfas to ogle. For directions
and more information, visit the Museum of
Transportation web site. Make sure to stop by the AONE canopy and say hello! ![]()

Road Rallye! Sunday, July 15
OK, heres something we havent done in a
while! The date is set as July 15th for a "fun rallye" down on the
Massachusetts South Shore in which weve all been invited to participate by the (drum
roll, please) Shelby Dodge Club! AONE and SDC member Peter Marino and his wife Carole will
set up the rallye with directional instructions and questions about points of interest.
The standing of each rallye team will be based on Total Time, Total Distance, and Number
of Questions answered correctly. So itll be a very loose TSD rallye, with the fun of
a "stop and see" touring event!
Last year, there was a small turnout from the SDC, since they were not familiar with a road rallye (but boy, can they drag race and autocross!) and thought it was a strict TSD rallye. This year, with the addition of AONE, there should be a good turnout. Again, we have to stress that this is a FUN rallyeits not like a SCCA Road Rally.
The
Rallye route will go through Weymouth, Hingham, Cohassett, Norwell, Scituate and Hanover.
It will take about two hours to complete. The day will go something like this: Rallye,
Cookout at Peter and Caroles place, and Prize Awards (and they may add a one other
event, perhaps a gymkhana!). Plan on an 11AM start. The entry fee is a mere $10 per car,
which will pay for food and prizes.
