The Election Results Are In!
Well, the nominees for the various elected offices of Alfa Owners of New England all breathed sighs of relief, when the vote count revealed that no write-in candidates received enough votes to win an office. So our new President, Treasurer, and Board of Directors are the ones who appeared on the ballot, and they’ll assume their official duties as of July 1. One thing about an uncontested election is that we don’t have to worry too much about dangling chads and lawsuits.
The one change in your administration is the election of Peter Walker as Director. Peter will certainly provide some new ideas and energy that will complement the efforts of the other Directors. Welcome aboard, Peter! Stepping down from the Board is Nick Fonte, citing a plate that’s currently too full for him to be an effective contributor, but expressing a desire to help our club out both now and increasingly in the future. Thanks for serving, Nick!
The contact information for your club’s President, Treasurer, and Directors can be found on the About AONE page. We want to reiterate that you don’t have to be a club officer to help make things happen! For example, Kevin Murphy has organized several successful and fun tours; Tom Letourneau contributes the monthly Racing News column; John Basel came up with the idea for our midsummer concert gathering last year; Stephan de Pénasse has written several articles on our members’ racing efforts; and Peter Marino is putting together the rallye in July. Those were just a few examples. There’s no reason that you can’t pitch in too! Just contact President Tom Lesko or any of the Directors and let him know that you want to help! There are lots of things that can be done, so choose something that interests you and do it!
Our new Directors have taken on the responsibility—both
collectively and personally—for organizing lots of great Alfa events over the coming
months and years. But they can’t do it alone! Any assistance that you could offer
will help to further the cause! Join in the fun by participating in events and, better
yet, helping to make them happen!
