AONE Gathering
at the
New Hampshire Vintage Celebration

The Pack

Picture-perfect weather greeted all who made the trip to Loudon, NH on Saturday, August 5 to take in the vintage races and join together with other AONE members at the annual Vintage Celebration at the New Hampshire International Speedway. We enjoyed a larger turnout than last year, although it was hard to tell how many attended, since everybody seemed to be everywhere at once! Our best guess is upwards of 20 members plus a bunch of family and friends.

Kevin Fitzgerald’s race car trailer was again our gathering spot (thanks, Kevin!), and with its canopy to protect us from the sun and the covered viewing platform on top, it was the perfect focus for our fun. It also hauled Paul Glynn’s #512 Giulietta to and from the track.

Speaking of whom, our guy was extremely competitive all day long. Next time you run into him, ask Paul to relate his experience getting by the ‘57 Chevy(!!!), a.k.a. the Traveling Road Block, that somebody let out there on the track at the same time.

Our helmets are off to Tom Lesko, who came up with a bunch of great food plus a wide assortment of beverages (and other goodies) to help us make it through the day neither hungry nor thirsty.

This is a terrific event and one that you should really strive to attend next year! There’s plenty of parking for everybody right in the infield pit area, and we were all able to park our Alfas near our gathering spot. There were over 80 vintage race cars (plus motorcycles) participating, and you can freely wander among them - it’s better than a car show! And the sounds that these wonderful cars make out on the track are worth the trip just by themselves! Tiny Quadrifoglio

Michael scolds him, "I told you to
go potty before we left! Now you’ll
just have to hold it!"

racing action was in the

Morgan An interesting piece.  This three-
wheeled Morgan actually made it
around some of the corners.
