AONE
Gathering
at the
New Hampshire Vintage Celebration
August 14th - Saturday
Hey, gang - how about taking in a little vintage racing? After all, Alfas have been known to grace the occasional race track over the decades.
August 13-15 are the dates for this years 9th Annual New
Hampshire Vintage Celebration, a weekend of Vintage Sports Car Racing at New Hampshire
International Speedway in Loudon. Friday through Sunday, Vintage racing sports cars and
motorcycles take to the 1.6 mile road circuit. Sunday is also a show day with over 1,000
cars and motorcycles expected at the Harts Turkey Farm Restaurant Open Show and
Elegance
Invitational. Theres also a car and motorcycle Swap Meet Friday thru Sunday.
Take in as many of these activities as youd like, but be sure to join your fellow AONE Alfisti to watch the races, admire the cars, and generally frolic and cavort on Saturday, the 14th! Club members Paul Glynn and Jim Hayes will be there racing their Giuliettas, and we must cheer them on! On top of that, Paul Glynn has graciously offered us the use of his enclosed trailer with a canopy to serve as the focal point of our club gathering, with an Alfa banner and a "viewing stand" on the roof.
So get an early start Saturday, drive up to Loudon, buy your infield tickets ($20), and look for the Glynn Motorsports trailer and Alfa banner in the pit/infield area! From there, you can roam around among the beautiful vintage racers and try out lots of different vantage points to watch the racing action. AONE will be providing some refreshments and there is a restaurant at the track. Stay over for the Sunday festivities too, if youre so inclined. For more info, check out the NHIS web site at www.nhis.com, or contact Tom Lesko at 781-749-9132 or tmlesko@mediaone.net
. Dont miss out - this is fun stuff!
Vintage
Festival at Lime Rock Park, CT
September 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th - Friday, Saturday,
Sunday & Monday
Our friends in the Connecticut AROC chapter (ARO-CT) have invited us to join them on Labor Day Weekend to watch the vintage races at Lime Rock. What they are planning is informal: the Fiat club has an Italian car corral up on the hill by the skid pad. ARO-CT plans to take part of the corral and set up a small gathering area. The club will most likely provide some beverages and snacks. There are always several vintage racers from the club for us to cheer on as a group. At a minimum, there will be four CT chapter members running at the event. Any AONE members? Let us know!

Private
AONE Tour of Nashoba Valley Winery
October 2nd - Saturday

OK - heres the scoop! AONE member Kevin
Murphy and his wife Diane have been working to put together a Private AONE Tour of Nashoba
Valley Winery (www.nashobawinery.com) in Bolton,
Massachusetts (Bolton is located along Rt. 117 just west of I-495). Not into wine? They
brew beer there, too! The group should arrive at the Winery between 10:30 and 10:45 AM.
Well have our own tour guide. During the tour of the production facilities, we will
be permitted to sample the various, uh, products, and purchase wine and other gift items
at the Wine Shoppe. Each participant will receive a commemorative NVW wine glass to take
home. The Winery has a nice restaurant for lunch that we are welcome to try (not included
in the $5.00 registration fee, of course), and grounds to just explore. Just for fun, this
is a joint event with the New England Triumph Club - lets show them our tailpipes!
Touring in: Meet us in the parking lot of the Papa-Razzi Restaurant on Rt. 2 Westbound in Concord (just before the rotary) by 10AM. We shove off at 10 for an Alfa caravan to the Winery, which is about 10 miles.
Or just meet us at the Winery which is located just off Rt. 117 at 100 Wattaquadoc Hill Road. Take I-495 to Rt. 117 West. Proceed approximately 0.8 mile to Wattaquadoc Hill Road on your left. Go straight as possible at the fork and the Winery is on the left. Enter the driveway marked "Restaurant" and park in the gravel lot immediately on your left.
Deadline: Please mail in your registration form by August 31. Better yet, do it now so you dont forget! Questions? Contact Kevin Murphy at 508-879-1881 or xpertcool@aol.com
