. . . My ‘56 Sprint?

by Jim Miga

Recently a friend of mine mentioned that he once owned an Alfa Romeo. He went on to say how much he enjoyed the car and wondered if it were still around. Of course, I suggested writing something up for Velocissima.

The Alfa was a 1956 Giulietta Sprint Normale, purchased new from Auto Engineering in Lexington, Mass. The original color was dark green and may have been painted gray some time later. Like many early Giuliettas, it had a column shift. It was later converted to a floor shift. The VIN number is AR 1493-01405 and the engine number is AR 1315-01034. If you own this car or know anything about it, he would enjoy talking to you.

Note: If there’s an Alfa in your past that you’d like to track down, send a note to your editor and we’ll let all the New England Alfisti know.  With enough interest, this could become a regular feature! -Ed.
