Alfisti Turn Out For AONE Winter Dinner Meeting

Everyone

A fun time was had by all who attended the AONE Dinner Meeting held on February 28 at Vinny Testa’s in Natick, MA. We had a very encouraging turnout of around 35 people, mostly Alfa owners and definitely all Alfisti!

Tom Lesko served as Master of Ceremonies for the affair and kept the meeting jumping from one topic to the next, eliciting valuable discussion from all the members present.

Many creative suggestions were made, such as linking up with some of the other caSpaghetti.jpg (6448 bytes)r enthusiast clubs in the New England area (Triumph, for example) to put on events such as autocrosses and road rallyes, rather than trying to pull them off by ourselves. That is, until we grow the club to, say, two or three times its current size!

The members present agreed that we would hold an election of officers as soon as possible - that’s why you’re being asked to submit your nominations ASAP - see the next page. It was also voted that the club file the appropriate annual reports with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts so that the club remains a viable (and legal) entity. It was reported that David Paliotti, Esq. has volunteered to continue in his role as Legal Counsel for AONE.

Bruce Murray, our club Treasurer, reported that AONE was fiscally solvent with $$$ in our account, which goes to help fund Velocissima and club events, like this one.

Doorprize.jpg (8182 bytes)An open discussion was also held on a variety of speed, social and tech events for the coming year. There are already a number of events in the works, and once we hold our elections and new (and incumbent) officers are firmly in place, expect the level of activity to pick up even more!

Between courses, Tom Lesko and AONE President Roger LaFerriere handed out lots of Alfa door prizes, both purchased by the club and contributed by Jim Miga. The prizes ranged from key fobs and promotional tapes through shirts and hats to enameled Alfa emblems and a nuovo GTV model! Definitely some nifty Alfa treasures!

Most of the attendees hung around and chatted long after the cannolis and coffee came out - in fact, we didn’t break up until after 8:30 or so. If you were there, then you know that everyone left the meeting feeling upbeat about the future of our club. If you weren’t there, you missed a great chance to share some fun, camaraderie, and Italian food with your fellow Alfisti. We urge you to join us for the next one!
